Nestled in the heart of our World Heritage Site, Carwynnen Campsite is a tranquil campsite just outside Camborne and has been having a much-needed refit during lockdown!
In April 2020, the site applied for and were awarded a grant from Cornwall Council to upgrade the facilities and improve accessibility. The site is used by a lot of local groups as well as some from further afield and is a much-loved green space in the local area.
The photos of the work speak for themselves - the improvements are huge! The inside of the building has been gutted, re-plastered and the flooring replaced. We've had new windows, a new kitchen and are planning more work on the toilet and shower facilities.
We hope that the work will be finished soon and we'll be open for groups from across Cornwall to enjoy from the summer onwards. Not only have we upgraded the facilities, we've also got a campsite badge!!
