Guides are girls aged 10–14 years old. Guides have adventure, challenge and friendship at the heart of everything they do. It’s about trying new things, building confidence and making great friends along the way!

Welcome to Cornwall Guides!

Guides learn new skills, explore the outdoors, get creative and stand up for what matters to them through activities designed to challenge and empower them. There is always something new to try, whether it’s developing a hobby, learning practical life skills or taking on a personal challenge.

Guides work towards a wide range of interest badges, exploring topics such as interior design, geocaching and human rights. They can also earn special awards recognising their commitment and achievements. For those keen to develop their leadership skills, Guides can complete the Ready, Set, Lead award.

Guides in Cornwall enjoy county events, camps and the Guide Messenger Service, representing Girlguiding at the Royal Cornwall Show.

There are exciting opportunities beyond Cornwall too. Guides can take part in international adventures, including trips abroad, international camps and global guiding experiences that broaden their horizons and introduce them to new cultures and friendships around the world.

Guides is about growing in confidence, developing leadership skills and facing every challenge, all while having fun!

“I like being a Guide because I can make new friends, have fun and do badges. We go on camp and have fun adventures and so much more!”

We help all girls know they can do anything

and you can help with that mission by volunteering with us

"Girlguiding was a safe place where I knew I’d find like-minded people while I was at university.

Now, when people ask why I give up a week of my annual leave for Guide camp, I tell them it’s because I can totally check out of real life. On camp, I don’t think about that work report or what needs doing at home because there are Guides in a field relying on me to keep them safe and, more importantly, fed! I can’t even find the words to explain how easy it is to switch off when you walk into that field and how amazing it feels afterwards!
