Royal Cornwall Show Messenger Service

Come and be a part of the Messenger team!

For more than 60 years, Girlguiding Cornwall has played an important role in the smooth running of the massive Royal Cornwall Show. Many of our Guides and Rangers apply  to be part of the prestigious Messenger Service. This calls for them to  deliver results and messages all over the Showground, as well as stewarding the Grandstand and helping to run the very popular Flower Creche so that visitors can safely leave their plant purchases whilst they continue to enjoy their time at the Showground.

But that’s only a part of our annual presence. Behind the scenes, a team of caterers ensure all the girls and leaders are fed and watered well and that exhibitors in the Flower Tent have somewhere quiet to grab a quick cup of tea and something tasty to eat. Out front, our PR team are busy chatting to the crowds and hopefully inspiring more girls and volunteers to join the fun. 

This is a huge team effort, yet thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved.

Royal Cornwall Show

It is with great sadness that the Council of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA) has announced the cancellation of the 2020 Royal Cornwall Show.

Our main obligation and priority is to protect the health and safety of our visitors, members, traders, exhibitors, staff and all those involved in preparing and delivering the show, which means that this is the safest, and only decision we could make.
