We survived the heat! St Breward and Camelford Guides at Kernow22

At the beginning of August, St Breward and Camelford Guides headed down to Stithians Showground for Kernow Jamboree. We were hoping for sunny weather and were we lucky - no mud in sight!

Once we set up camp, the open ceremony began and we were greeted with a colourful display of T-shirts of all the different sub camps.

Throughout the week the girls enjoyed many activities: from skateboarding to slip and slide, trampolines and archery to brush craft, earthquake stimulation and first aid skills. We enjoyed a day on the beach surfing and beach games.

On the final day of camp we got to explore Cornwall and taking part in the famous Kernopoly! We ended up on a double decker bus to Lands End and visited the Jubilee Pool in Penzance - they even let us dip our toes into the pool. We visited St Ives for an ice cream and ended up in Truro for, of course, some important shopping!

A fun filled, action packed week was had by all and we can’t wait till the next one. Thank you to all the leaders who were part of the team which organised such a fantastic week!
