Develop a skill for a minimum of 50 hours and share it in Girlguiding. The skill can be anything you like. It could be something you've done before that you'd like to develop or something completely new to you! The important thing is to challenge yourself and reflect on your progress. Some examples are: sport, dance, driving, art, music, crafts (you could do scrapbooking to evidence your Queen's Guide). Make sure you share your skill in Girlguiding after! This could be by leading some activities themed around it, doing a speech or creating a challenge badge.

This challenge is made is split into four challenges. Each section will need it’s own project with a different focus on: Girls, Growth and Retention, Volunteer, and Inclusion. • The Girl challenge involves working directly with Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and/or Rangers. • Growth and Retention challenge focuses on recruiting and retaining volunteers or helping girls to continue through sections. • The Volunteer challenge focuses on Volunteering in a role that is new to you that helps others. • The Inclusion challenge involves actively putting in place strategies and plans to make an area of guiding more inclusive. Each project should be completed at a different guiding level: unit, district, division, county, country/region, Girlguiding UK or World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Ask your commissioners for local and county opportunities.  One project needs to show your commitment over time so must be completed over a 12-month period or be over 50 hours.

Find a cause that is important to you, research it, do something practical to take action and share what you have learnt with a local Girlguiding group.  You need to complete a minimum of 25 hours across all 3 sections.

Take on an adventurous leadership role outdoors as part of a team. There are three different options: • Lead a residential – by gaining a lead away permit as a Ranger (or lead a group away if you already have it). As an adult, plan and lead a trip while gaining the Going Away With licence or lead a 18-30 residential. (Minimum of 2 days, 1 night). • Lead or assist in delivering an outdoor session – such as canoeing, sailing, walking, narrow boating, climbing, rowing or archery (you need to complete the relevant training sessions). (Minimum of 8 hours excluding training). • Complete an expedition or exploration with peers – Expeditions are trips that involve travelling each day using your body (biking, walking, sailing etc) and can include DofE expeditions. Explorations are trips to an unfamiliar place and learning more about it.

Challenge yourself socially in an unfamiliar place or in an unfamiliar role. There are two ways you could do this: • Attend a residential in a new environment for a minimum of 2 nights and 2 days in an unfamiliar place.  • Take part in an event that is a minimum of 2 days, either taking on a new responsibility at an event you have been to before or taking on a responsibility at an event you have never been to. Responsibilities include: first aider, caterer, service team or resources coordinator.
