On Friday 31st January the Brownies at Pool took part in making a Girlguiding Trefoil out of copper to raise funds for 1st West Oxford Rainbows and Brownies as they have suffered extreme flooding at their unit and everything has been lost. The girls brought in any spare change they had, with a little help from their parents, The girls then filled the outline of a Trefoil with the coins.
They all worked really hard to make it perfect and were very proud of their efforts. The mass count began and they raised an amazing £36.78. Which will be divided betweentheir Unit and their sister Unit.
Karen, the Unit Leader at 1st West Oxford Rainbows and Brownies said "We lost almost everything in the January floods, and meetings have been very difficult since then to provide the usual well balanced programme. However, the money raised by our sister Unit in Cornwall will help us greatly in replacing lots of much needed items and we thank them deeply for their support."
