Narrowboating with a purpose

The crew on the narrowboating weekend

Ten leaders from Cornwall went narrowboating for a long weekend and successfully navigated a 70 foot narrowboat called 'Snowy Owl' from Trowbridge to Bath and back along the Canal and the River Avon. Aqueducts, swing bridges and double depth locks proved to be no obstacle for the team under the able leadership of the Outdoor Activities Advisor Jill Jeffs. The sun shone most of the weekend and a number of Narrowboat licences were renewed. Carol Avery the Boating Adviser gained her licence and everyone else on board made good progress towards theirs.  No time was wasted and craft ideas were exchanged. The team were ably catered for by Mary Eddy and a roast chicken dinner (it was Mothers' Day after all!) was particularly enjoyed.
